''Please.....don't do this.'' She begged, tears streaming down her eyes.''I don't even know you,why are you doing this?''She yelled, slowly backing away.
Somehow those words hit me, i mean this wasn't my first time and it definitely won't be my last. But something in her tone shook me so hard i had to sit down.
She was still shaking, pushed herself against the wall,in a corner. As if she could break it and run away from me.
I always wondered what it's like for them. For her.
Does she think about her loved ones, even for a split second? Do happy memories flash by,or perhaps sad ones? Does she want to be with them again?
Or are those memories long gone leaving her mind a constant blur, like a static image of a broken channel.
I got up and started marching towards her, and she started rocking herself back and forth.
That's when they came in,pushing past me until i dropped the pills from my hand, and the glass cup broke, breaking my trance with it.
They got her on her feet, and put her on a chair.''There, there Gladice''. ''She wants to poison me!'' One of the nurses gave me a sad look.
''That's your granddaughter'' said another trying to comfort my grandma.
I stood there watching her, watching my grandma, who wasn't my grandma anymore. She suddenly lifted her head and smiled at me,that sweet warm smile and said ''You have the wrong room, dear.
I don't have a grand daughter''.
That's when i realized, some words really do kill.
I posted it in /r/shortscarystories, but someone suggested i post it here. Enjoy!
