The child.

I was returning home from work. The night had fallen quickly, and by 6:30 it was almost pitch black.

My headlights illuminated the outline of a weary child, who couldn't have been older than ten.

I would never have it in my heart to have passed this child by, it just isn't in my nature. I slowly pulled the car to a halt, and wound the driver's side window down.

After talking to him for a while, I found out that he lived just 2 blocks away. I, as most normal people would do for children, offered him a lift. He didn't need any persuading.

As I drive down the block, I remember my childhood days. So innocent, so naive. *So easy to catch...*
