The monk prayed every day, and on one of these God chose to respond.
"You have been very faithful to me, and as a reward I shall answer any questions you have."
"Tell me about the afterlife," said the monk. "Tell me about heaven and hell."
"After death," said God, "man will live his vices for eternity. The alcoholic will drown in boiling wine. The greedy will suffocate in a mountain of gold.
The suicidal will repeat his act, and at the end of the day, all of them will be brought back to life again. Man will have a lot of time to repent. In fact, he will have forever."
The monk's eyes grew wide. "Now tell me about heaven," he whispered.
There was a pause. "I already did."
