I went to start a load of laundry. Our washing machine is in a little shed outside, because…I don’t know. We have a small house and washing machines are loud, maybe.
But I went out to the shed, carrying the laundry bag, and saw my cat sitting on top of the washer. I said hello and patted her and we had a nice chat. (she is very talkative).
But the washer is a top loader and she was in the way.So I picked her up, set her on top of a big cardboard box, and loaded the washer.
Then I shut the top, picked her up again, and put her back. She purred and cleaned one leg. I went back inside with the pleasant feeling of being in a Diana Wynne Jones novel.
I told my dad and went back upstairs. About 10 minutes later, (the start of the spin cycle?) we hear a tremendous caterwauling. The cat was Not Pleased by this turn of events.
I went outside, thinking maybe was trapped on the bucking washer and couldn’t get down, but she was up by the side of the house, and hissed at me.
Then she started whimpering and when I picked her up she dug her claws into my arm so I couldn’t drop her.My cat is a disatser and I love her.
