So I'll start this by saying that Revy was the name of my dog. She was a mutt but primarily Pit Bull. I had her for around 10 years.
Right after 8th grade, I was visiting my dad in another state. As a son of divorced parents I'm pretty used to going back and forth between two households to visit. My dad owned Revy.
One night, a couple of days before I flew back to my mom's house, I found a copy of Silent Hill: Downpour. This got me pretty excited, as I was a huge fan of Silent Hill.
So I popped it in at like, one in the morning, brought Revy into the room and started playing.
It was a fun game, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Whenever the game had a jumpscare, the dog would jump up and start growling.
It was pretty funny and added a new level of scariness to the game, because she sure scared the shit out of me when that happened.
I turned the game off eventually because it was getting late, and I went to bed cuddled up with Revy on the couch.
The next couple of days were spent packing, so I didn't really spend much time with her, and eventually I flew back.
Well, a couple weeks later my dad told me that Revy was in the hospital for heartworms. I was pretty upset, but Dad said it would be okay.
I would get daily status reports, and for a while she was getting healthier, she was winning her fight. But apparently Revy gave up.
She got significantly worse after about a month, and eventually the vet said they had to put her down. So they gave her the shot, and I remember that dog to this day.
Silent Hill: Downpour is one of my favorite games...
