My little girl, fascinated by mermaids, and the ocean. A great swimmer, even at the age of 6, better than her mother and I.
"Daddy, time how long I can hold my breath!" was a constant game, that's why I always have a stop watch.
One day, she came up to me, "Daddy, the mermaids taught me how to breath underwater so I can play with them!
" I figured she had made a new record on holding her breath, as she led me to the pond behind our home.
As she dove in, I started the clock. But, after 45 seconds (her record was 42), I got a little nervous. 1:15s, the pond was still, I had jumped in fully dressed.
It's been two weeks, the search and rescue people have made 3 diving searches... she's gone.
