A little bird flew by the window today.
It was a sparrow, as plain and usual as a sparrow could be.
But I noticed it, just as I noticed every bird that came by the window.
I noticed their soft, delicate feathers.
I noticed their little, perfectly proportioned beaks.
But mostly, I noticed how quickly they came.
And how quickly they left.
Just like how quickly she entered my life.
And how quickly she left.
Soon I’ll leave too, and I’ll join the little bird that has now flown away.
