Last night a drunk slammed his head against my bedroom window, roaring with laughter. It was startling to say the least, but he left as quickly as he appeared and that was the end of it.
Today as I left work, my office's symphony of printers and clacking keyboards was interrupted by several coworkers' boisterous laughing. I was happy to see everyone getting along.
Tonight two guys got into an argument at the bar and went outside to settle it. They returned several minutes later unscathed and chuckling.
Others across the bar began to join in the laughter and before long the noise was too much. I made a beeline to the bathroom where I now wait in a stall for the commotion to dwindle.
Someone just entered the stall next to me. They're chuckling quietly. It sounds like he has his hands over his mouth. Wait, is he gasping for breath?
I exit the stall and begin washing my hands.
"Hey buddy, you alright?" I ask.
The muffled chuckling turns into a guffaw as the man bursts out of the stall and lunges at me, his bellowing voice piercing my ears. He grabs my shoulders and I shove him to the floor.
His face is a vibrant red and blood begins to trickle from his eyes and nose. Panicked, I pull out my cell and dial 911.
His laughing is now so loud that I drop my phone to cover my ears. Just as I go for the door the noise stops. His expression blanks and his entire body goes limp. I cannot believe my eyes.
It's the funniest goddamn thing I've ever seen.
