It was like the tallest step of his life, Adam raised his left foot right next to his other foot. The gentle sunrays touching his round face, warming his face up as he took in his surroundings.
Soft sounds of the city life surrounded him. The whisper of the morning breeze in his ears, the little honking of the morning traffic made Adam feel home again.
As he tilted his head back slightly, lifted his arms horizontally, took a slow inhale and spun around slowly like a ballerina in a music box.
The smell of the city he was all so familiar with. And so he drifted with the wind…
“Adam?” a calming voice breaking the silence.
Adam could feel the gentle dabbing of a cloth on his face with bright glow of the sun illuminating his eyelids.
He opened his eyes, adjusting to the sun’s penetrating rays shining directly at him. Through his squint, he saw Ellen carefully wiping the beads of perspiration of his face.
He was lying on his bed, covered in sweat, his body felt tense.
“Geez, looks like you had a troubling one,” she said with a smile. Her voice was comforting, “Not to worry, it’s all over now.”
“Phew, it was just reality.” Adam thought.
