When I was five, one night at the crack of dawn, my sister woke me up.
"Mom has hung herself," this is what she said.
This was bizarre. You see that only in movies, right? We didn't have time to ponder that. We went and got help from a neighbor, called the ambulance as my dad stayed with her.
This was what I remembered seeing. Years later, my then 10-year-old sister told me that she was woken up by dad, who sat by as he watched her hang herself.
This is what I remember not seeing, but will never unsee.
