I realized something today

Life is like wearing makeup.

Everyone wears makeup differently. Some go full face, with dramatic eyes and a sexy lip with wicked contouring. Others choose to wear less makeup, and rock the mascara and foundation look.

Others choose not to wear makeup, which is perfectly fine, too. Everyone finds their own style of makeup that they like the best, and they role with it, full of awesome and powerful confidence.

The same should go for how people live their lives. Everyone lives their lives differently, and it’s up to that person to decide how they want to live.

Makeup can be, and will be, judged by other people. Society tries to put Rules and Regulations on how people should wear makeup.

Now, I’m not talking about people saying “mascara goes on your lashes” or “blush gives color to your cheeks”. No, these are guidelines to help you get started on your makeup journey.

Someone may tell you that mascara goes on your eyelashes, but hey, you could put it in your brows, too, I bet, or use it for texturing on your face if you’re doing cool makeup art.

When people try and tell you that “you’re wearing too much makeup” or “I prefer a natural look on you” or “you’re a man, you can’t wear makeup”,

that’s when those ‘guidelines’ turn into 'bullshit’. You don’t need to listen to it.

Live life the way you wear your makeup. Free, uncontrolled, and custom made to fit YOU. some days, your makeup won’t turn out the way you like it.

The eyeliner just isn’t even enough, or the eyeshadow doesn’t look right. Those difficult times happen in life, too. I’ve been through several rough patches in my life.

The important thing to remember is that makeup isn’t permanent. You can wash it off and start over. The only way those mistakes will stay on your face is if you leave it there.

I’m sorry for the long post, but I thought this would be really important to share. Keep on rocking that look, babe, because you’re looking fab.
