This past April, my girlfriend was having pregnancy cravings, she wanted some Eclairs from Safeway. I drove to the Safeway around 7 PM.

When I got there I parked and began going through my phone. I sat in my car for a few minutes and noticed an old beat up van slowly driving in the opposite parking lot isle.

I noticed the driver who looked just like the actor Danny McBride looking back at something out of my view.

I thought nothing of it when the parked in the opposite isle about 4 stalls away from mine.

I got out of my car and began walking in, I looked at a car and there was a young kid probably around 7-8 sitting in the car alone.

I then saw a very short Mexican guy get out of the van. That's when I put 2 and 2 together and realized that's who the driver was staring at.

The van was still running and I looked at the driver who was watching his friend. His friend walked to the front of the store and then towards the car.

I stood there watching him then looked at the driver again, he noticed me and I looked back at the Mexican guy who had yet to notice me.

The driver then whistled which echoed through the fairly empty parking lot. I looked at him and he motioned his head towards me while looking at the Mexican guy.

I looked at the Mexican guy who now was looking at me, this time he was about 5 feet from the car. They both shot me dirty looks and the Mexican guy retraced his steps back to the van.

I stood there trying to get a picture of the licence plate but there wasn't one. Then a guy in a navy uniform exited the Safeway, I asked him to wait there and explained the situation to him.

He agreed.

I ran inside and let the manager know. I described the car the boy was in and the van. They called the cops and the van was found a few minutes away at a burger king.

The mom of the boy got a damn good verbal lashing from the police as to never leave children alone in a car.

Needless to say I'm pretty glad my girlfriend was having cravings at that time.
