I went round to your place at sunset. Your eyes lit up as you saw me through the curtains. It was almost as if not a single day had passed since your trip.
We walked and talked for hours, until the dark blue night began to brighten. We sat on that bench down the darkend path, and cuddled until sunrise.
I walked you home. Along the river bank, past the forrest's edge. When you held my hand, I melted inside.
As we got to your door, I pulled you in close, and kissed you like I should have done, before you went away.
I'll never forget that day. The day that got away.
