It had been ten years since I'd seen any of them. Ten years since they made my life hell. Pushing me around, mocking me, rejecting me.
I was pleased to see how quickly their lives had fallen apart. Jocks working dead-end jobs. The tramps whose looks were rapidly fading. I almost pitied them.
My life had completely turned around since high school. I had moved away and taken a job at a catering company. Just a few years later I was negotiating contracts and planning events.
I was excited to hear my company was being considered to cater a reunion of nearly 300 people.
I was even more excited to learn that it was *my* school's ten year reunion.
I glanced at my watch and looked around the room at my peers. Some people were already groaning. The football captain's wine glass dropped to the floor and shattered.
I closed my eyes and smiled for the first time in over a decade.
