At night I am always scared. Scared of the unknown... the darkness, or should I say, the absence of light. Sleep is a very vulnerable state. I fear vulnerability.
At around 12:30 the earth reaches its numbing silence. At around 1:30 even the crickets cease their song. That's when I really get scared. This is when the silence rings in my ears.
The breeze yells at me, telling me to "close my eyes, they promise not to come," but I don't believe it. It lied to me last time. "Stay awake," I had to remind myself.
I feel my eyes getting heavy.
2:30 "Only five more hours to go, do not sleep, pleaseee don't go to sleep."
3:45 My eyes feel so tired, I need help... please I am scared
4:50 I cant do this anymore, I cant. Stay. Awake.
5:15 C-c-cant s-s-stay awake-e
I fell asleep. I couldn't resist my body. The cold had set in, my frostbite didn't hurt anymore, in fact, I wasn't even cold anymore... I just. wanted. to. sleep.... so I did.

They warned me time and time again...but I never listened. Trust me, please take my advice and remember, when the cold creeps in at the dead of night, just DON'T. Fall. Asleep.
