Wow. Here we are at day 16. Over one quarter of the way through this 60 day journey already! The main focus is definitely on food at this point.
It started out being the running, I was pushing so hard and wanted to do a 10k in a month (which I realize is unrealistic). Now I’m pushing to continue short runs, but more often.
Last week I only got out 4 times, so maybe this week I’ll try for 5 or 6.
My eating though! Oh I’ve been so good! It really has shown me how many poor food choices are presented to me daily and how easy and empowering it is to say no.
After the 60 days, I might be more inclined to have the odd “treat”, but my mindset has definitely changed. I don’t even feel comfortable calling unhealthy food a “treat” anymore.
I have learned that eating well really is a choice of respecting your body. You deserve better. Better than sugar and processed garbage and salt and fat and “synthetic food-like substances”.
You deserve nutrients and fibre and healthy fats to help your brain functions and anti-oxidants. It really isn’t difficult to eat well, once you make that choice.
I’m so proud I’ve made it this far, but still a long way to go. I need to keep my journal up to date, as I’ve been missing the odd day here and there.
I need to push myself to run harder and longer. I need to drink more water and go to bed earlier (I’m frigin exhausted).
Most of all, I just need to keep going and I think I’m in a good headspace to do so.
