"I'm sorry, you know I can't control it!"
Dishes clatter as they're dropped not the sink without care.
"What a pathetic excuse. I've dealt with worse and hadn't dared to complain about it."
Quiet steps away from the scene caused the tension to heighten.
The door clicked shut and the deluge of water filling the tub was nearly deafening.
"Don't worry, I know I'm pathetic. I'm just another thing in your life that just couldn't be helped, never able to be fixed."
All she could do was imagine that the crushing weight of the water filling her lungs was a welcoming hug from someone who could finally love her.
