I moved into a new house. A beautiful house, but old, creaky and creepy, but at that price I couldn't pass it up. I was going to fix it up good starting tomorrow

That night, at around 2am, I woke up and went into the kitchen to get some water. I heard some light tapping coming from the underneath the kitchen floor. I recognized that it was Morse.

I went and got my phone and opened a Morse translator app. It was simple what the tapping was.

I know a little about Morse code. I don't know it too well but I'm familiar with it as in if I hear tapping or clicking sounds in a certain pattern, I'd recognize that it's Morse.

Of course, then I would need to translate it because I don't know it by heart.

Morse app translated the tapping.

"Help"

Over and over.

I opened my recording app started to record the tapping.

"Please help"

I replied back in Morse code "where are you?"

"Cell"

I wasn't aware of having a cellar in this house. I figured it was something the previous landlord hadn't told me about or forgotten to mention it. I had no idea how to get down there.

There was a man in my house and I had no idea how to get to him.

I called the police. I was on hold while they were transferring me to the correct department for this issue. While on hold, I replayed the tapping message.

A chill went up my spine.

After replaying the Morse code on my phone...

I had made a mistake in the translation. Due to the raindrops hitting against my window earlier, making a tapping sound as well, I had mistaken Morse code for "C". It was actually "H".
