Surprised that most of you had a dead Memorial Day. Even if no box office records were broken, Pirates 5 still made $15.4 million with a per-theater-average of $3,623.
That doesn't necessarily translate to dead business.
At my theater we played Pirates 5 at our two biggest auditoriums and sold out both. For the whole day it made about $35,000. That's just for one movie.
Count Guardians 2, Baywatch and Alien 6 and we had a pretty busy day.
That doesn't seem to be the case for many of you.
Are you guys in a small market? Indie theaters? What are the expectations for the summer? What are operating hours? Are there camp/group field trips lined up?
