The little wave

There once was a little wave in the big sea. She loved floating along with everyone. But sometimes it wasn't that easy to be a little wave in a big ocean.

One day she and all the other waves held a race to see who’d be the fastest. The little wave lost and hung its head.

It asked mother ocean: "Why couldn’t I be the fastest?" "It doesn’t matter, little wave", mother ocean said. "We’ll all eventually reach the shore. You just have to keep on moving."

The little wave sighed but nodded: "I just have to keep on moving." So the little wave kept on moving.

One day the little wave was very excited. It had prepared a dance on the water and wanted to show it to everyone. They all came to watch, smile and cheer her on. But the next day they had all forgotten about her wonderful dance.

Little wave hung its head and asked mother ocean: "Why have they forgotten about my dance so fast?" "It doesn’t matter little wave", mother ocean said. "They all loved seeing your dance but now You just have to keep on moving"

The little wave sighed but nodded: "I just have to keep on moving." So the little wave kept on moving.

One day there was a storm in the big sea. The little wave got thrown up and down and all around.

She was scared and cried out: "Mother ocean why can I not stay in the comfort of the calm sea?" "It doesn’t matter, little wave", mother ocean said. "Eventually the storm will blow over." "You just have to keep on moving."

The little wave sighed but nodded: "I just have to keep on moving." So the little wave kept on moving.

And after the storm had blown over the little wave saw it: The shore.

"Mother ocean", she said excitedly, "look I’ve almost made it to the shore!" Mother ocean smiled and nodded: "Yes, little wave, you have almost made it Are you looking forward to just lie at the beach?"

The little wave thought about it for a while. Then she shook her head "No, it doesn’t matter, mother ocean. Eventually there will come a new shore. I just have to keep on moving."

So the little wave kept on moving.

No matter how strong the wind was blowing. She kept on moving. No matter what anybody said. She kept on moving. No matter how often she had to try to reach her goal. She kept on moving.

No matter what. The little wave kept on moving.

This is poeticworld's story told with some creative liberties. I had a blast being part of this collab with her and I hope you enjoy it!
