Modified chain rhyme. I watch the rolling clouds from where I sit. I yearn to touch them with my fingertip. But solid glass prevents me, so I quit. I turn and kiss you on the lips instead...

Summer Loving ☀️ Airplane

Welcome to 'Summer Loving,' a collection of poems about enjoying the summer season with the one you love. Each poem tackles a vacation scene that, once the pandemic is over, we can hopefully safely go back to. In the meantime, feel free to have some fun in the sun with this first piece!

Summer Loving ☀️ Airplane

I watch the rolling clouds from where I sit.

I watch the rolling clouds from where I sit. I yearn to touch them with my fingertip.

I watch the rolling clouds from where I sit. I yearn to touch them with my fingertip. But solid glass prevents me, so I quit.

I watch the rolling clouds from where I sit. I yearn to touch them with my fingertip. But solid glass prevents me, so I quit. I turn and kiss you on the lips instead.

Our airplane flies and angles overhead. I turn and kiss you on the lips instead.

Our airplane flies and angles overhead. Beneath, I see blue water tinged with red. I turn and kiss you on the lips instead.

Our airplane flies and angles overhead. Beneath, I see blue water tinged with red. The sun is sinking, almost time for bed.

Our airplane flies and angles overhead. Beneath, I see blue water tinged with red. The sun is sinking, almost time for bed. But here we are, a-traveling again.

We'd talked about adventures way back when. But here we are, a-traveling again.

We'd talked about adventures way back when. We didn't know if we could have them then. But here we are, a-traveling again.

We'd talked about adventures way back when. We didn't know if we could have them then. Now here we fly to destination ten.

We'd talked about adventures way back when. We didn't know if we could have them then. Now here we fly to destination ten. The last we'll see but certainly not least.

When we arrive, we'll have a tasty feast. The last we'll see but certainly not least.

When we arrive, we'll have a tasty feast. We'll take good pictures of the local beasts. The last we'll see but certainly not least.

When we arrive, we'll have a tasty feast. We'll take good pictures of the local beasts. We'll wade in ocean water with our feet.

When we arrive, we'll have a tasty feast. We'll take good pictures of the local beasts. We'll wade in ocean water with our feet. 'Til then, beside you on this plane I'll sit.

END Thank you for reading! Fun fact: the chain rhyme for this poem was inspired by Robert Frost's 'Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.' ☀️ Ann Sepino (annsepino.mystrikingly.com)
