We might not be able to celebrate with others in person this year, but we can still share the holidays through poetry.

Christmas Kisses ❄️ Merry Making

by Ann Sepino

Tipsy,

Tipsy, lispy,

Tipsy, lispy, nearly in a stupor

Flavor of champagne still on my tongue

Wiggly,

Wiggly, wobbly,

Wiggly, wobbly, lean against your shoulder

Beneath champagne, a taste of costly rum

Sleepy,

Sleepy, silly,

Sleepy, silly, I shall take to dancing

Upon the street and nearly trip on heels

Grabbing,

Grabbing, steady,

Grabbing, steady, let you lead this prancing

Towards the curb, where you have left our wheels

Slowly,

Slowly, gently,

Slowly, gently, roll us out of parking

Singing carols, watch you while you drive

Smiling,

Smiling, giggling,

Smiling, giggling, too much merry-making

With someone who can make me feel alive

Heavy,

Heavy, funny,

Heavy, funny, off inside I'm carried

Tucked beneath our blankets on the bed

Don't take off

Don't take off my clothes

Don't take off my clothes because I'm married

'And this is why I love you lots,' you said

Blinking,

Blinking, thinking,

Blinking, thinking, slowly I remember

You lay down beside me, kiss goodnight

Christmas was

Christmas was the best

Christmas was the best this cold December

When we're together, everything's alright

END Just a funny moment between a doting hubby and a very merry wife. Thank you for reading! ❄️ Ann Sepino (annsepino.mystrikingly.com)
