A sonnet about my insides

Sonnet

Inside me there are azure painted skies

Inside me there is gentle blowing breeze

Shimmering stars stand still behind my eyes

Reflecting in the cold glass of my seas

Outside me there are places dank and dark

Outside me there are persons big and bad

Reality will always leave a mark

Regardless of what sort of life I've had

Inside my mind is beautifully bright

It liberates me from the chains of fear

Rose tint glasses turn the dusk into light

Although the earth may seem not quite as clear.

I am freedom's prisoner, all alone

In a world I can only call my own.
