Fear I Held Dear (A Poem)

Fear I Held Dear

Consumed by my fear, I forgot something I held dear, A thought that was mine, A link to the divine.

Always, but never really there, I remember something rare, A feeling that’s out of my reach, A barrier that’s not mine to breach.

Once the dust of despair has settled, After the demons I have battled, A new day to make memories, A deep breath before life seizes.

The sun of hope will rise, Bringing with it my fear’s demise, A desire I can no longer quell, A new life to live well.
