The truth can’t be denied;

Abyss

There is a place deep within my heart, Holding a secret, I refuse to impart,

Lost somewhere in the stream of time, When my woe became my biggest crime.

Not long ago, I coveted something unique, Opposite of love, something no one should seek,

The fool that I was, I never realized it, If it’s not meant for you, you can’t find it.

Truth be told, eternity is an absurd notion, Honestly, even love isn’t a resilient emotion,

Perhaps my insecurities have led me here; Or it’s the inescapable fate that caused this fear.

Staring at me from the abyss, Is my despair, mocking me, and telling me this;

The truth can’t be denied; what’s done is done, A battle, that’s already ended, can no longer be won.
