If you let me, I'll love you forever. (Poem)

If someone asks me what I see when I look into your eyes, I tell them:

I see a million different futures with you, translucent through the sky blue in your eyes.

I see all the beautiful things about you; all your imperfections and scars,

And I don't love you despite your imperfections,

I love you because you are imperfect.

I want to dance with you underneath a disco ball at the prom,

Or the glow of the refrigerator,

Or the flashlight on our phones,

Whichever is more convenient in the moment.

I want you for everything you are.

Bring me your hurting and your worries.

I can't promise I'll make it all better, but I promise I'll drag myself through Hell with you if that's what it takes to help in the slightest.

And promise me you'd do the same if it ever came to that, my love.

All the diamond rings in the world couldn't match up to the brightness of my heart when you're near me.

You make bad days good,

And good days even better.

I guess what I'm trying to say is,

I love you.

I've loved you for months,

And if you let me, I'll love you forever.
