Scared

by ameagami

Worked for a life So bright and pink When and how it became so dim

What is supposed To bring me joy Became a source Of fear and grim

I've been fighting alone For too long My might is gone And so is hope

To a life colored in black I turned my back But fear got me trapped I can't move forward and I can't get over the past

This was an exceptionally well written poem. It brought the darkness into clear focus. The graphic behind each stanza drove the poem in an artistic manner. Every line has a 4 to 7 syllable count except this one, "I can't move forward and I can't get over the past, 11 syllables. It could have been like this, "I can't move forward I can't get over the past " and it would have had an easier tempo.
