Dedicated to my lost one.

Pure

I remember

The contenders

Always changing

One name on the tongue

Postcards flying

In your room crying

You could never lock the door

And I tried to

keep you safe

And I tried but they're outside

now through the gates

And Im tired but I love you just the same

Let me hear

Your voice once more

Quiet in the east

As you take your final tour

I remember

The last contenders

without sight without mind

But just in reach

Cold to the touch

Numb to the bone

And others saying to believe

Pieces have been lost and bent

Flowers grow through cracked cement

I still hear your tv blaring on

During nights when the moon's far gone

True love, purest kind

Wholeness as you did what's right

I miss

Your smile

Ill drown out those thoughts tonight
