To a boy I once knew

Survival of the fittest

by amandar

Thank you

My naivety is no longer a burden

Reality came and punched me in the face

Too bad I stood up and realized

I like the taste of blood

Could have been yours or mine

Why should I care now?

Did you unlock the cage?

or did I bite through the bars?

Should have kept my innocence intact

Instead it finally hit the sack

Don't blame me for adapting to your games

Its survival of the fittest

Which I don't think you can handle

It's ok, I'll light up your candle

The only reality is the one you're living

This was a poem of empowerment. It was well written and a great job!
