I am a villain. He stole her from me. I stole her back. I love her with all my being, forever and always. La amerò per sempre.

The Bad Boy Stole Her Heart

"MEL! DON'T YOU DARE LEAVE ME! BABY PLEASE COME BACK TO ME! TI AMO MI AMORE!" he sobbed.

*Flashback*

"I'm so excited to see all the vineyards and the architecture and to try all the food at the local mar-" Melody cut herself off.

This had to be the thousandth time she went on a rant about the trip to Italy to her boyfriend, Angelo. "Sorry babe."

"No it's alright sweetheart. You have every right to be excited, after all this IS your first time out of the country. I'm glad I got the chance to take you to stay at my grandmothers vineyard.

You'll love it, it's rustic and totally your style."

"I can't believe we've been together for five years now. This is going to be a very memorable anniversary."

"For sure." Angelo had been planning on taking Melody to go sightseeing, only to propose to her at the Leaning Tower of Pisa. She had no idea and that gave Angelo all the reassurance he needed.

Angelo noticed Melody frowning, and he slowly asked her what was bothering her.

"Angelo. I never told you this, but I studied abroad in Italy when we were in college. I met a guy there and he was really sweet, but I was getting skeptical of his intentions.

Then one night I overheard him during one of his 'routine' and 'important' phone calls, and I found out he was a very bad guy.

He was wanted in three other countries for assassinating a couple world leaders or something like that and I was so scared.

I ran and packed and when I tried escaping, he caught me and pulled a gun on me because he was so angry and wasn't thinking straight.

I took the shock of the moment to run and I never saw him again."

"Oh baby I'm so sorry. I can cancel the trip and we can go somewhere el-" he got cut off.p by Melody,

"NO! I need to get over it. I was over six years ago. I can handle myself." Angelo looked like he was about to argue but the look in Melody's eyes made him keep quiet.

The rest of the ride to the airport was silent with only the faint sound of the radio in the background.

"Babe I'm gonna head up a little and when you're done taking pictures of the buildings, meet me at the Tower, okay?"

Melody nodded distractedly.

When she was done taking pictures to her heart's content, she made a move towards the Tower. When she got there, she busted into tears.

There, smiling on one knee, was Angelo.

Behind him was the the Leaning Tower and a sign that said "MELODY PIERCE, WILL YOU MARRY ME?" Melody stood there shocked until the passerby's began encouraging her forward.

She gathered herself and ran into Angelo's arms, screaming "yes!" the whole way there.

The crowd dispersed after cheering, and Angelo and Melody went to dinner to close off their wonderful first day.

The whole time, however, Melody couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching them.

She kept a smile on her face though, because the shock of her recent engagement continued to resonate in her.

Once they got back to the vineyard, Melody was shocked to fine rose petals on the cobblestone pathway into the garden and candles on the ground on either side of it.

Curious, she followed the path. There on a table, was a bottle of white wine chilling in a bucket of ice with two wine glasses and a small grape and cheese platter.

Hearing a twig in the garden snap but not thinking anything of it, she sat herself down on one of the chairs.

Angelo hadn't joined her yet, and Melody was growing suspicious until she saw Angelo walk out into the darkness, wearing his crisp white button down dress shirt and classic blue jeans.

As he got closer, Melody noticed it wasn't Angelo.

She saw the blood stains on the shirt, and stood up abruptly.

"WHO ARE YOU? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH ANGELO?!" Melody screamed through her tears, and stumbled as she backed away.

"Oh, Mel. Always so dramatic, weren't you?" She knew that voice.

Leonardo.

The mafia gang leader that pulled a gun on her all those years ago.

"L-Leo. What are you doing here? What happened to Angelo?"

"Angelo and I had some.....bad blood. You see, he left the gang without notice or a good reason about six years ago. He said he found a girl, and that he wanted her more than the gang life.

He said he wanted no one he loved to be involved in that. He chose a GIRL over his BROTHERS. And well, once I found out it was you he had eyes for, I was livid.

No one, and I mean NO ONE, leaves a gang only to steal the owner of my fragile heart. The owner was you, il mi amore stupendo."

"A-Angelo was in a g-gang? That d-d-doesn't matter right now. What did y-you do to h-him?!"

"Manesco is dead, mi amore. Gone. He's no longer in our way! We can live happily ever after like we planned! And look, you've already got a ring.

I can get it engraved and plated with gold and then it'll truly be ours. We can get married this autumn, Melody. What do you say, love?"

Melody choked on a sob. "I say you're a sick bastard. Stay out of my life. I want no part of your mafia gang. I don't love you anymore."

Leonardo clenched his jaw. "Well, darling, you have no choice. You're coming with me, and you're going to be mine."

Before Melody could protest, something hit the back of her head and she blacked out.

*End of Flashback*

"She's awake, boss." Melody tried to open her eyes, but they felt glued shut.

"It's about time. I have no remorse for killing Matteo. He hit her to hard with his gun and she could've died. I just wanted her knocked out, not put in a coma.

My only regret is not making him suffer more."

"I'll give you two some space, sir." Leo held on tight to Melody's limp hand, kissing the back of it gently.

"Torna da me piccola." Melody finally came to and tried to yank her hand out of Leo's, but she couldn't move her body. She glanced down and noticed that she was tied down to Leo's bed.

"Leo, let me go. You never have to see me again, there will be no more turmoil and disruptions in your life. Let me go. Please."

"I can never. You're the light of my life, Mel!"

"Leo, I-" but the door bursted open when gunshots broke the lock.

Leo jumped on Melody to cover her, and the gang member that notified Leo of Melody's consciousness, Francesco, walked in with a wild look in his eyes.

"NO! YOU DON'T GET TO SAY THAT TO HER! I'm in love with you, Leonardo. I have been for two years.

I wanted to fight my homosexuality but I couldn't, you were irresistible and I couldn't help but fall for you more each day.

But it broke me when all you would talk about was her," Francesco spat at Melody, and she cowered in fear, "I deserve you more than she ever will.

I've devoted ten long years to this gang, FOR YOU! Leave her, Leonardo. Be with me. Or I'll force her out."

Leo laid shocked on his bed, then grew livid.

"YOU DON'T GET TO DEMAND THINGS OF ME, PESCINI! I LOVE HER, NOT YOU! I NEVER HAVE LOVED YOU! AND NEVER THREATEN HER LIFE AGAIN OR I WILL BRUTALLY END YOURS!"

Melody was in a daze. Leo still loved her. And she was terrified to realize that she never stopped loving him. The villain. But he could never know or else he'd never let her go.

She just couldn't be a part of the gang life.

Francesco, driven by hate and agony, aimed his gun at Melody and shot five times. All landed in different places in he torso, one in her face, two in the chest, and two in her stomach.

"Think about your new decision while she fades away and goes to rot in hell, where she belongs for stealing you from me." Francesco said, and walked out of the room.

"MEL! DON'T YOU DARE LEAVE ME! BABY PLEASE COME BACK TO ME! TI AMO MI AMORE!" he sobbed.

As her vision clouded and turned black at the edges, she started at Leo's face, the edges of her vision forming a beautiful vignette style photograph of him that she'd have framed any day.

"Leo. Y-you're a villain. A bad m-m-man. But t-th-through all of this, I've n-never sto-stopped loving y-y-you. Out of t-the villain a-a-and the good guy, I c-can't believe y-you w-w-won.

I l-l-lo..." and she couldn't even finish her declaration before her last breath left her body.

Leonardo sobbed into her neck, and cried out in agony. "SONO UN CATTIVO. HO RUBATO IL CUORE DELLA DONNA CHE AMO!"

" (I AM A VILLAIN. I STOLE THE HEART OF THE WOMAN I LOVE). "
