i'll always be by your (passenger) side

by allison

friday nights, lake shore drives and clementine lights

(still don't taste as sweet as you)

play our anthem as we speed downtown

windows rolled down in a white prom gown

and i swear time goes 120 too when i'm with you

parallel park by the stars, adler planetarium's ours

and show me the city from your shoulders

(i'll always hold yours)

show me the way February tastes on your lips

(grips on hips)

show me snowflakes by the lakeside

i'll always be by your wayside

friday nights, lake shore drives and clementine lights

still don't look as sweet

as the view from the passenger seat

This was a stupendously lovely poem. It was sensitive and tender. It was excellent from a technical viewpoint. This is better than any love sonnet from Willy the Shake. Great poem!!!!!!
