What a time for such a prompt.

“Serve the Servant”

What a time in our lives for a prompt such as the word "Servant."

There's a multitude of ways to go about this, in consideration of what is occurring in the world today.

There's the servitude of slavery, which somehow became a factor seemingly overnight, with the heads of protestors of BLM shoved so far up their own asses,

they can't see exactly what they're asking for with their impulsive demands and destruction of cultural history. Why are you pushing for segregation now? You’re making us Indian givers.

Then there's the servitude of the masses to the ever-growing fear created and spread by corporate media outlets.

And for fun—also because I spent many years as one—with restaurants basically going out of business with the fake v1ru5 and food shortages, I'd like to briefly mention a word about servers,

or waiters (as someone who's never worked in the food industry calls them).

I believe everyone should've been a server for at least a month of their life, to experience the utter hell of a job it truly is, and to learn how to tip.

Faking a smile and positive attitude (especially when it’s a table of teenagers or adult-sized assholes) in that fast-paced environment for hours at a time is both mentally damaging and emotionally draining.

But I think Nirvana's "Serve the Servant" would be a better route for this prompt.

For those "youngsters" who don't know the band Nirvana, nor Kurt Cobain, turn off your Walmart-pop, wannabe-country, homo-hop that’s filled with subliminal, disharmonious tones, and get grungy.

According to Cobain, this angst-filled song is an ode to his father, who wasn't there, of course. (It’s the first track off their third and final studio album, In Utero, before the live albums, compilations, and boxed sets were released by his wife who hired his murder.)

But, it also says a lot about his own servitude to the soul-sucking music industry, to society/family values, and to his and our much-loved media.
