I wish I was free. But freedom was an ambiguity for me. Trapped in a cage with no walls I had nowhere to fly to. Sinking into the never ending grey A wasteland of forgotten memories,
I wish I was free.
But freedom was an ambiguity for me.
Trapped in a cage with no walls
I had nowhere to fly to.
Sinking into the never ending grey

A poetry on finding freedom

I wish I was free. But freedom was an ambiguity for me. Trapped in a cage with no walls I had nowhere to fly to. Sinking into the never ending grey A wasteland of forgotten memories,

I drowned in the colourless landscape. Sinking, sinking, sinking. I reach the bottom of the murky waters Blind to everything, alone. I bleed, hoping to attract the sharks Yet that also fades into the same grey.

A ray or light pierces through like a spotlight Guiding me towards the surface And suddenly I'm able to swim freely. Breaking through I fly with all my strength In hopes of a clear blue sky But like Icarus I am fated to fall

Again and again I fly up in great hopes But my wings are ripped out mercilessly A poor bird in the palms of a cruel child I am brought to my knees Felled by the actions of a conqueror And made to dance like a fool.

Looking into the eyes of the puppeteer I am forced to obey as their doll. Dancing with no end through the hands that control me I spin sadly on the spot unable to move as I wish. Freedom is out of my grasp I wish I was free.
