He straightens his collar after he put on his tie and laughed at himself in the mirror. Every day was the same thing for he didn't even know how many years.
He woke up at the same time, ate the same 3 meals for breakfast, brushed his teeth, put on deodorant, and finally got dressed. When did this happen? He asked himself.
He used to have hopes and dreams when he was younger. He was going to be someone who left his mark on the world. Now, this tie was a metaphorical chain to his 9 to 5 life.
Though he could change that right now, all he had to do was call out. Make a different day for his life and start a new chapter.
He sat on the bed and held his phone in his hand why was he so afraid to call out? His job didn't care about him, he was just another body to fill the space.
If he died right now they would replace him within the month, he knew it. Though he was chained to that job that put a roof over his head, food in his belly, and gas in his car.
So he stood up and slipped his phone back in his pocket then left his apartment. This was his life now.
