I imagine you now as this blanket caressing me, clinging to all the contours of my body.
You were my blanket.
You kept me warm.
You kept me safe.
You kept me protected.
You shielded me with your body wrapped tightly around mine.
We laid there with our legs intertwined, fingers tangled together and our heads gently resting on the pillow.
Peacefully laying underneath our blanket fort listening to each others voices.
My bed holds so much empty space now.
I lay here and think of the top corners being your arms anchored around my shoulders
and the bottom corners being your legs wrapped around me.
I lay my head on the pillow, imagining it as being on your chest.
The soft breeze coming from the vent, feels like your warm breath softly kissing my neck.
I close my eyes and sigh, although you may be gone it still feels like your around.
For now I will imagine you as my blanket again.
