A poem causing awareness for teen suicides, and some information on the subject. Together, we can work to stop this...one step at a time...

Suicide Hotline

Help! I need help! I feel worthless, I need some help, I tried to yelp...

I am ugly, and worthless, and stupid and dumb, I tried to suffocate myself until I turned as purple as a plumb,

I feel alone, and nobody will help me, Help before I jump from a tree...

“You are beautiful, and you have every right to be living, the world wouldn’t be the same without you,” You really think so? How can I think the same about myself too?

“Look around, look at all you’ve done, all you’ve accomplished, Harming yourself would only bring pain into your parents, your family, and your friends,” So you’re saying- I shouldn’t make my life end?

“It may be hard now, but it will get better. Don’t allow these thoughts and actions into your brain, please don’t allow...” Thank you so much, I have to go...bye now!

Every year, the suicide rate for teens and young adults keeps on growing. As of 2014, in just the age group 15-24, there was more than 5,000 suicides, making it the second leading cause of death for this age group. If you or someone you love is going through suicidal thoughts and actions, please tell someone or dial the suicide hotline. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline can be found at...

1-800-273-8255, and is contactable 24 hours every day. Just remember, you matter! Everyone is beautiful, and we can all take a stand against these suicide rates. A human life is very precious and to have it taken away, is a scary thought. A simple act of kindness such as sitting with someone who is alone at lunch, helping someone, or even just saying hello can make someone’s day, make a new friend, and perhaps, save a life.
