The first poem in quite some time that I'm actually proud of.

Thereafter a Passing

A window of frost lightly masks the outer whitescape.

Flames dance on small fireworks, cracking now and again.

Warmth fills the room,

Warmth fills the room, yet cold it remains.

A man stands in blinding rain,

A man stands in blinding rain but she lights the way,

A man stands in blinding rain but she lights the way, soft lanterns illuminating her smile in a warm cafe.

Memories rise of another day, another night.

Decadent chandeliers shower her with gentle stars

Decadent chandeliers shower her with gentle stars as the sounds of orchestra and wine harmonize.

His eyes open.

Their gaze falls upon an empty hearth.

The rain comes again

The rain comes again with fire in its wake.

The cottage lifts off the ground

The cottage lifts off the ground and crashes down again

The cottage lifts off the ground and crashes down again before turning in endless circles.

If I let go, she dies a second time.

If I let go, she dies a second time. You can let me go, but I will never leave you.
