You will not regret this read. A poem on freedom and the current happenings under the rule of taliban.

Freedom under my Burqa

I hide under the veil of voiceless

I hide under the veil of voiceless holding a doused candle of hope

I have never known education

I have never known education just practising household chores

I was never given work to do

I was never given work to do but imprisoned in my home killing the dove

I have never listened to music

I have never listened to music only the teachings of Quran

Hiding from happiness and

Hiding from happiness and embracing the dark to be forgiven

Looting me off my dignity

Looting me off my dignity and off my human r|

Looting me off my dignity and off my human ri|

Looting me off my dignity and off my human rig|

Looting me off my dignity and off my human righ|

Looting me off my dignity and off my human rights|

When raising my voice ,

When raising my voice, swaying my hair,

When raising my voice and swaying my hair and studying at schools

They chop my hands,

They chop my hands, whip me with pain

They chop my hands, whip me with pain and burn me into a fire of ignorance

As they mock us, I cry to God asking him what have I done to suffer

Being a woman is a heinous crime under their rule

As I shed tears of helplessness and beg for freedom time to time

Heartless men wound my soul

Heartless men wound my soul till my wings bleed and shatter into granules

I cry inside everyday as a sharp dagger is pierced in my mind

I cry inside everyday as a sharp dagger is pierced in my mind finding us astray among the manifestation of violence

A day will come when time will vanquish them all, I will have freedom under my burqa

Writer’s note : When I see the Taliban hit women,I literally feel like crying. On halfway of this poem I broke apart. When you see them suffer and can't help them, you feel so anxious. Please raise your voice against them, I pray that they get freedom soon. Thanks for reading !
