metaphoric, but also rings true. Read it, and float.

The Devil’s Own

The eerie night,

The howling cold,

The fright that felt new

God, was rotten and old

The taste of blood

Upon my tongue

It seeped down

As she stung

The pain was real

And so was she

Like the devil

She came to me

This she said

"I beg you, dear

To my gloomy bed

Come with me."

I was tempted

Oh dear, was I not

To follow my lover

Into the hut

But the wind had blown

And her hair had shown

Blood red, it shone

Like the devil's own
