A Room Full Of Monologues

by _emotrash_

I sit at the empty table

All alone in a room full of monologues I have yet to learn

And I yearn for their words

But yet I cannot read their pages

Cannot comprehend their verses

Their lines remain a mystery to me

For one cannot learn the lines of someone else

When they don't know the lines of themselves

I don't know the lines, the verses or the words

The flowery quotes like rose petals

Or deep cut slams that leave a sour taste in my mouth

I don't know the quotes of my heart,

Don't know the ticking tempo

Or fiery rhythm of my soul

My fingers tap a beat

That I will never know
