Love. What is it? Who is it?
Everywhere you turn, you can sense it, but you have never felt it.
Like a ghost, she wonders around the town.
In the coffee house, between a couple, you see her red hue linger.
At the lake, you hear her mellow voice in the collection of children’s laughter.
By the park, among the flowers, you smell her rich fragrance.
In the bus, you feel her warmth in the cotton of your neighbour's coat.
At the carnival, you can taste the sweetness of her lips in the candy.
Yet, with her constant presence in the town,
She stays away from your home, your life and you,
like the rich shun the poor.
You beg for mercy and reach out your hands to the intangible ghost.
If only you understood her when she said
"If you give a lonely man love, you satisfy him for a fleeting moment, but if you teach him how to love, you satisfy him for a lifetime.
What a shame he has not noticed any of the lessons that I have put in his path."
