Boats surrounding the docks were all rocking side to side as thunder roared, hiding the beautiful morning it could've been. Kai awoke when a yell came from a nearby boat outside during the storm.\n     'He must be catching water, I should probably raise anchor and get the Treader out of here before I'm stuck here.' He thought to himself as he began to strap on his shin-high boots. \n     When he opened the door to reveal the outside world, he was instantly met with a gust of wind and rain that fell from the dark clouds above.\n     After shielding his face from the weather momentarily, he let his arm down and began to work. Quickly he stepped across the deck and to the side of his boat, there he began to unhook a few metal chains that were holding onto his boat from the docks. From there, he made his way to a circular crank nearby, with one swift movement he pulled the crank towards himself until it clicked before letting the crank go altogether. Right away it began to retract the anchor underwater on its own. \n      Once done, Kai walked to the backside of his cab where a slightly small spiral staircase was revealed leading to the top of the cab. As he reached the peak of the stairs, the pipes from inside of his cab could be seen coming through the ceiling and up to the deck above, which held a roof above it to help protect against natures course. At the center of the Captain's Deck was a 'V' shaped steering mechanism. Most boats at the dock in Catarei were normal, but the Treader was rarely seen by a Factionless. \n      The straight channeled fin at the stern of the boat ensured that even the slightest shift of the steering would force the boat to pursue it's desired direction. On either side of the steering stood an upright chamber, basically a giant pipe with a gauge, going straight down to the bottom of the boat and back to the stern. One of the chambers, the right one, showed a numbering system on the side of it and was see through with water inside of it. The chamber on the left looked very similar, but held a clip-on type of lid that Kai already had flipped open. \n      The waves crashed and shook the Treader, which was floating out in the water loosely, as the young man reached inside of his pocket to pull out a small flask with an even smaller lid on it. Once the lid was off, a tiny amount of powdered blue substance was dumped into the chamber. When he was done, he reached to either sleeve and pulled them both back to his elbows. Either arm revealed strange symbols that wrapped around only short sections of his forearms.\n     'Thank the Lost Ones that I had Crypt left over...'\n     When the chamber was closed back, he placed both hands onto the steering handles. His Treader had floated far from Catarei at this point. Giant waves carried the lifeless boat as the storm roared on. \n      As he gathered his grip onto the handles, a small lifted button could be seen on the deck at the base of the steering mechanism. Kai readied himself, then with one foot, stepped onto the button. Instantly, two small pricks were made into the palms of his hands from small needles that shot up through the handles he held. This caused a small amount of blood to enter the hidden cracks of the steering mechanism. After this was done, a small light began to reveal itself from the pipes that travelled all over the Treader. \n     'Time to go.' Kai thought to himself, and with one loud 'Whoosh' sound from the stern, the Treader was heading extremely fast towards clearer weather.\n\n      The next morning was a lot calmer. When Kai had finally awoken, the first thing he did was check his mounted compass that was linked to the Captain's Deck. \n     \"South dammit! This storm caused us to go East!\" He yelled at himself with frustration. \n     Forcing himself outside, he walked to the stern of the boat. Here sat a medium sized tank with another sort of crank off the side of it. Slowly, he began to turn the crank. As it rotated, water slowly filled the tank, this was his main water collection tank that the chamber on the Captain's Deck would gauge. \n      When he was done, he headed to the bow of the Treader. The rectangular shape of the boat was awkward enough compared to the traditional Factionless boat. Along the front of it, it carried an upright curved bow to help ride the waves it would encounter. After making sure everything was in order on the main deck, Kai made his way up to the Captain's Deck.\n       Reaching one hand to the steering this time, he began to turn the handles to make sure that his boat would be heading South. Reaching below the steering, he slowly twisted a small dial counter clockwise. This made sure that he would cruise at normal speeds this time, only allowing small amounts of the materials and blood to mix. The Alchemy at play, was called Sacer, and was considered an Ancient power that only few knew how to control or use. Pressing one foot to the button, his one palm was pricked yet again, this time slowly propelling the boat forwards at a more relaxing speed.\n      Kai's eyes glanced quickly to the chamber he had poured the Crypt into, making sure it gauged enough for his travels.\n     Locking the steering in place, he returned back to the bow of his Treader.\n     'Hopefully these outer bands of Varensvain Pass aren't reaching when I arrive at Caecis.' As the only town in the Expanse with no Faction, the civilians that remained here worked night and day to make sure everyone was comfortable in a town ruled by them and them alone. \n\n     As Kai made his way to the docks, over the strung together bridges that worked as pathways, he made one last stop. When the door opened for him to walk into the baker's home, it was already nearing nightfall outside. \n\n     \"Miss Kira, I apologize for coming by so late. I didn't want you to think I forgot you before I left,\" Kai stated with a slight smile on his face.\n\n     \"You're quite fine Kai, please come in and sit for a drink before you leave.\"\n\n     \"Of course.\"\n\n     As he took a seat, Miss Kira was already walking back with cups full of liquid.\n\n    \"Here you go love,\" she said.\n\n    \"Thank you.\"\n\n    \"I've made you some of that sweet bread you like, I'll see you out with it when you go.\"\n\n     \"I'm excited of course,\" Kai responded.\n\n     \"So is it nearing time for you to go on your Forever Journey?\" Miss Kira asked after a moment of silence stirred between the two. \n\n      Kai stared off into the depths of a nearby wall as he began to speak. \n\n     \"It's been hundreds of years since the Lost Factions were in existence. Leon and I made a pact and a plan when we were younger running the streets together. We've definitely grown up, but this isn't something that I will ever let go of and not pursue. You have always looked out for us even as kids, Miss Kira,\" tears trailed down the woman's face as the young man spoke. \n\n     \"Out of everyone, you should know what this means to us and to everyone that is Factionless in the Expanse,\" Kai finished.\n\n     \"You're right Kai, you boys became my world after Sebert passed away, and with that I will always back you two. But I would be lying if I said that I wasn't scared to see you both place yourselves in harms way,\" Miss Kira responded.\n\n     \"We'll look out for each other, and once we've expanded our own Faction, we'll return to claim Catarei as our own.\"\n\n     With a sniffled giggle underlying her voice, Miss Kira replied, \"be safe my boy, and don't forget your Sweet Bread.\"\n\n     A couple more gestures were made, followed by a deep hug, before Kai made his way back to the docks. After passing the pier a few moments later, he finally strolled up to the Treader, his boat. Kai gazed one last time over the waters that he would once more travel upon.\n\n     'The stars are bright tonight.' He thought to himself. \n\n     With one last moment spent, he jumped down into the boat that sat last in a line of boats at the docks. Once inside the single cab on his Treader, he kicked his shoes off and laid down roughly upon his bed. \n\n     His mind wandered many times as he struggled to sleep. The pipes in his cab ran around the inner walls and ceiling throughout. The low ripples could be slightly heard rubbing up against the sides of the boat. I'll be expecting to be paid in full, all of my Bolts this time.\"\n       The younger man, Kai, stretches his arms up to the sky as if he had just woke up as the sun began to come over the horizon.\n      \"I know, I'll be sure to let the boys know!\"\n      \"Safe travels,\" Cruz let out as he turned and began to walk away.\n      \"Forever journey,\" Kai replied softly.\n\n       A couple steps back up the pier, and Kai was face to face with the Factionless town of Catarei. As he walked over bridges from one floating building to the next, the previous age architecture could be appreciated from those that currently inhabited the broken buildings that remained from the Old Wars.\n      'Leon where are you dammit.' Kai thought to himself.\n      \"Kai! How's the travelling going?\" A kind voice yelled out from a direction that trailed the smell of baked goods.\n      \"Miss Kira! It's been a while! I just got back to Catarei last night, an the travels have been going well of course. Did you bake me something to bring with me when I leave again?\" Kai smiled a cheerful grin as he scratched the back of his head with one hand.\n     \"Of course! Come by on your way out and we'll have a chat!\"\n     \"Sounds good!\"\n      Kai continued his walk through the slummy town, his brown curly hair held up into a bun behind his head as his emerald eyes held sturdy in the front. He was tall and muscular enough to fool others.\n      Midway through his day, he finally walked up to the door he expected his friend to be behind.\n\n      Knock. Knock. Knock.\n\n      \"Coming!\" A strong voice yelled out.\nA couple of steps later throughout the home and the door swung open.\n      \"Kai?\"\n      \"Leon! Let me in you bastard, I've been looking everywhere for you!\" Kai ordered with slight annoyance.\n      \"Come in, come in!\"\n      The skinny yet tall man stepped to the side to let his friend enter. Once received in the light, Leon's spiky ginger hair became more apparent to anyone that could've caught even a glance.\n      \"How's Eileen these days?\" Kai started.\n      \"She's good, working a lot more at the tavern then usual these days. How's it been going for you?\" Don't get to see you as often as I did in the older days brother,\" Leon responded.\n      \"I've been fine, the water gets comfortable when it's just you and a Treader for days on end.\"\n      \"It's a beautiful boat, I still remember how proud you were when you got it.\"\n      They both took a seat at a table and chuckled momentarily at the thought. Silence filled the air before Kai continued the conversation.\n      \"50 more Kins, I need the bolts up front when I deliver it.\"\n      \"Damn, alright. Why so uptight this time around?\"\n      \"I'm trying to get a Booster.\"\n      Leon stared at Kai's response before laughing out loud and responding. \n     \"Why a Booster? You think you're gonna fill the rooms in one of those things on your own? Let alone maintain it?\"\n     \"I have a plan Leon,\" Kai began. \"I need you in on it.\"\n     \"Alright then tell me what it is.
