See, being alone should feel peaceful, I should feel free, but for me, I am at war. At war with the shadows in my head, going back and forth. At war with the darkness consuming every thought in my mind. Being alone, there’s only one thing alive. The evil thoughts quickly take over my brain. I have to get out. I must get out.\n\nI knew it was getting bad again when one person turned into two, and two tuned into four, and the thought of just having one person for myself bored me to death. I knew it was getting bad again when the thrill of tricking these people turned into a sick obsession, when seeing others hurting made the shadows a little less congested. Telling them “you’re the only one, I only see you, you make me feel whole.” Only to kick them out the next day. Thank you, I got what I needed, what I wanted. Now, I am on to the next thrill. The song and dance stay the same, while the partners change. I will light the fire in you, and I will burn it out before you can even fathom, have you wondering what you did wrong, questioning yourself, but little do you know, it’s really not you, its really me, and my shadow friends. We will make you feel loved endlessly, and then have you questioning your sanity. Why? Because, after all, maybe the shadows and I want you to join this side.\n\nI knew it was getting bad again when one drink turned into ten, and ten drinks turned into visiting my little white friend. My little white friend would turn me into someone I didn’t recognize, but someone I enjoyed being. The feeling of being on the top of the world, speaking to anyone, about anything in full confidence, the tingling and numbness on my lips, the oddly nice feeling of drainage down my throat. Line after line, I become divine. Or, at least that’s what my little white friend tricked me into thinking.\n\nI knew it was getting bad again when I find myself back alone, again. Here I am, laying on my kitchen floor, nobody besides my shadows and I, asking “how did you end up here?” Everyone is gone, its just us now. I start to beg them to leave, get out of my head. They consume, they take over.
