I no longer believe in the salvation I was promised since childhood, and now I'm taking matters into my own hands.\n\nMe and Prince Canute both. We're trying to create a paradise in this chaotic god-forsaken world. \nGranted, I do question whether it is even possible but I'll goddamn claw my way as far as I can get.\n\nPrince Canute and I differ on our specific conclusions regarding God. He believes god to be an evil being for creating such an unjust world, therefore he no longer needs his salvation. I'd have come to the same conclusion, if I actually believe that god even exists.\n\nStill, our goals and how we got there are almost identical. We were both sold on the salvation promised by Christianity. He deemed that promise to be a lie. I deemed it to be fake.\n\nPrince Canute's story is my story. This poem is our poem. We threw away the paradise promised to us after our deaths. Our paradise is here. Right here. We'll make it so.
