first seeds blossomed in Eastern Asia. In Japan, this beauty is known as “Higanbana“ (or “equinox flower”), as it usually blooms either in late summer or during the fall. With long stamens and strap-like petals, its appearance recalls that of a spider; hence, the nickname red-spider lily was also attributed to the flower.\nThe Lycoris Radiata has earned the reputation of red magic lily or hell flower, due to the body of myths that have been spread on its account: rumor has it, that these bright-coloured “Manjushage” (“heaven flower”)  leads souls into the afterlife. Legends also say that, if you meet someone you will never see again, these flowers may grow along their path.\nGenerally speaking, so, the Lycoris Radiata is a symbol of death and rebirth. On the notes of the piece quoted above, in this haiku, the red lily plays the role of the butterfly, traditional allegory of the intimate metamorphosis of one’s soul. Changes make, parts of us die, other evolve or just bring new ones  to life.
