This is a situation that’s particularly troublesome when we have little choice but to maintain these things. Like having to go to the same old places and perform the same old activities that we no longer have any meaningful connection. But which of course hold endless memories of what was (but is no more) drowning us beneath their cascade. We can quickly feel as if our days are spent simply going through the motions, and gaining absolutely nothing from the endeavour.\n\nSome call it an existential crisis, where our entire perception of the world and our life within it falls into question.
