Winds raced in all directions! Something formed in the sky followed by random voices. So many... things im not sure what they were. They were all passing by so quickly. Hundreds of strangw looking things. An eye! A massive eye! What is it? What is going on? \"BOOM\"!\n\nA massive explosion jolted me awake. I rose up from my bed in a second. sweat dripped down my forehead and drenched my clothes. What was that all about I thought? I've had strange dreams, but none like that. It was all so fast I couldn't make sense of it. \n\n\"Hey babe what's the matter?\" My wife who had been sleeping soundly sat up to ask. \"You look like you saw a ghost!\"\n\n\"Just a really... strange dream. It's nothing. Sorry I woke you up.\" I replied wiping my forehead.\n\nThe alarm on her phone sounded nearly sending me through the roof. I was still very much on edge. \"Did you dream about alarms?\" She asked with a slight laugh. Guess she found my anxiety funny. \"At least you woke me up before this stupid thing. I've gotta get ready. I love you!\" She said getting out of bed and rubbing her eyes.\n\nI figured I could relax for at least another hour. Take my mind off the dream with some TV. Take my mind off it until it was my turn to get ready for work.\n\nFifteen minutes passed and my wife, Heather, came back in. \"Be careful its really windy outside today. Don't want you to freak out when you open the door.\" She said with a giggle and gave me a kiss goodbye. \"I love you. Have a good day!\" She said leaving the room as I called out the same thing.\n\nWind? There was a lot of wind in my dream. It's nothing tho... right? Yeah I'm just paranoid I figured. It's the middle of March. Springtime is always windy. I'm just paranoid. That dream felt... just strange. Not so much realistic but... I can't explain it. I was still on edge so that's probably why. Just wind. Right? Yeah just wind... windy wind. Yeah!\n\nI just sat for the remainder of the hour focusing on the TV and on my phone. I dont usually eat breakfast so my mornings are often boring since I rarely go back to sleep when Heather gets up. Your just counting down the minutes until the clock strikes seven so your body doesn't wanna go to sleep. Guess I do get a little bit of time to relax before traversing a warehouse in my forklift. Not the most glorious job but pays well and has great benefits. Heather constantly complains for me to go back to college so I can make real money like she does as a nurse. I hate school I would much rather be active and doing something than sitting in a classroom. \n\nThe little hand on the clock struck seven. Some people get a gut ache because it's that time again. Maybe I'm different. I don't fret that time. Sure I'd rather be home, but wouldn't everyone? Could be worse; I could be a fast food worker. Or any job in the customer service industry. I had one job like that at a burger place. I think th only thing worse than that working customer service is a Karen complaining that you got her order wrong. Even worse when she asks \"can I see the manager?\" Since I was a manager I always thought of the scene cutting to wide-screen, dramatic music playing as I answered her in an eighties action movie tone, and saying \"Yeah you can. He's right here!\" Then it would cut to a battle scene between the manager and a Karen. Don't lie, we have all thought of that... right? Just me?\n\nMy morning routine didn't take long. Mainly just putting on work clothes, brushing teeth, ya know normal stuff. At least there was no dress code and no one to impress so I just wore anything that I didn't care if it got dirty or ripped. \n\nI opened my front door and was almost thrown back! She wasn't kidding about the wind. It was bad! Must suck for everyone with seasonal allergies. Like my wife who I made fun of all the time especially her sneezes. Like is it just a thing for women to sneeze very quietly? I will be sitting at the dinner table and hear a tiny sneeze and I will look around for a mouse. She hates that by the way. Fun for me though, but like Is it considered dishonorable to all women to sneeze normally? If you actually let it out do you get a knock on the door from women in black there to take you away? It's just strange to me why you girls do that.\n\nMy morning commute isn't so bad only about fifteen minutes. We live in a small town near the bottom of Minnesota. It was small at least. It's grown since we had moved six years prior. I still considered it \"small\" compared to Minneapolis or pheonix. We lived outside our little town and the warehouse was in the industrial part of town. That part of town is what kept the town going. It gave everyone jobs and money to provide for their families. There was the warehouse, a couple sawmills or whatever type of place they are, postal warehouses, and a couple small office buildings. They were the heart of the town... well aside from the town square which was an old courthouse with some stores around it. The old part of town was in the middle and it got more modern the farther you went. Almost like time travel just by walking. \n\nI got to the parking lot and it was rather empty. Lots of call outs which meant overtime. Hooray! Just kidding no one actually enjoys overtime. I opened the door to the windy outdoors. I hate this wind I thought to myself struggling to get the door open. I ran up to the door to escape the furious gusts of wind. I stopped in my tracks though. The wind... it just... died. No clouds so couldn't be a tornado. The wind without warning continued, but blew in the other direction. I could tell because the flag up on the flag pole went limp, then began to flow vigorously in the opposite direction. Strange... very strange weather! It stopped again and then continued except this time worse.\n\nThe sky roared with wind blowing fast enough to knock you over. Much faster than it had been. Changing at random blowing one way and the next second another direction. The sky had a mind of its own it seemed! I looked up wondering what was happening. That's when I saw it.\n\nA massive.... eye? An eye in the sky opened up. It looked familiar. My dream! It was deja vu, except in this case more like a vision into the future. So many thoughts and questions raced inside my head. Was the dream warning me? What should I do? What is going on? My heart raced and I should have took cover but fear had me paralyzed in place. \n\nThe eye opened up. Not like you could only see the eyelids before,, but the pupils seemed to be opening up to a portal or something. Out shot fireballs screaming to the ground. They flew in all directions like they knew where they were going. As if being directed by... whatever it was. One by one you could see them hitting the ground. I lost count after twenty. There were easily one hundred!\n\n\"Beware!\" A loud voice called from the heavens. \"For this is your judgment! Succeed and we will leave. Fail? And we will rule.\"\n\nMy phone rang in my pocket. I pulled it out of my pocket to see it was Heather. I just stared at it, then looked back up. I couldn't look away from it. I'm not sure why, maybe I was curious,, maybe it was calling to me. Was it... was it looking at me? I'm sure everyone thought that but I felt as if it were looking at me. People ran to their cars screaming past me. I just slowly walked in the direction of the eye. It had me in a transe of some type. I was at its mercy. I had to squint and saw something hurdling towards me. I snapped out of it. My eyes widened. My heart pumped faster then ever. Adrenaline shot through my veins. It was too late though. \"BOOM\"! The fireball crashed in front of me and everything went to black.\n\nI knew from those moments that normal days on Earth were over. A new... strange Era had begun. No one, however, was prepared for what this strange \"judgment\" was. This was something that humanity was not prepared for. So while the memory is still fresh, I decided to capture the short story that my mind came up on a whim. \n\nIt is a fictional interpretation between the two of us in my head. Sometimes I'm not very sure where this is going, but I've decided to wait for him nonetheless. If the relationship doesn't happen in real life, at least the fictional version of it can be immortalized somewhere in the corner of the internet :).
