I learnt from the adults around me abuse is okay. You then lead a life without any self worth, a life where you know you&#39;re being abused but you don&#39;t stop it.. Why would you when you don&#39;t care. My journey started when my abusive mother kicked me out and since then it&#39;s been two years of just me resting in a deep deep depression, the journey has been hard. I only now feel the life entering me again. This is about my depression, written while I couldn&#39;t leave my bed. I want to say it&#39;s normal to have a long recovery period after so much sh*t has happened in your life and for those of us born into abuse in order to heal we usually have to go on a lonely, dull journey where we constantly wonder for years if you made the right choice. I think you did now after 2 years coming up to three years I feel my leaves starting to sprout, I try to see my depression like a germinating seed underground, its scary growing your roots in the dark, you have no clue whether or not it is  right until you finally pop your head out the soil and have a look around at your new life. It&#39;s okay if you&#39;re still recovering, it&#39;s okay if you&#39;re rotting in your bed, it&#39;s all part of the process even if it SUCKS.
