"first_page_text": "𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹.\n\nI still remember the day I met the love of my life for the first time, it was a warm summer day in 1993 in the small town of Redwood falls Oregon (I was 14 and she was 14) and my name is Michael woods, I was at my parents’s store/ house in town looking through the shelves trying to find the latest comic book to read, me and my mom and dad lived in the apartment above the store and being that the only few friends I had had gone on vacation all I did during the summer was look at the comic book section and that’s when I saw her. The bell above the door Rang as a girl with short bright ginger wavy hair and freckles on her cheeks walked in with a confused face, probably wondering why everything was so old and retro in this building,the truth is my mom and dad haven’t restocked the place since the 80s. The girl was looking around the store like me, probably looking for anything to do wile school is gone for the thew months we had off. Her eyes landed on a book on a shelf next to the front window, the book in question was titled how to draw real and amazing places, she picked the book up and walked towards the cash resister and began speaking to the cashier, my mom, I was watching from a far wile turning back to look at the comic book section trying not to look weird but my heart felt like it was going to explode she was so beautiful my early teenaged self thought.\n\nShe placed the book on the table next to the cash register and spoke ”how much?” \n\nMy Mom (a frail and wrinkly old Woman with dark brown hair) picked it up and examined the book “three dollars” she said \n\nThe ginger haired girl dug around in her Pocket for a bit and pulled out some money and placed it on the table\n\nMy mom took the money and placed it in the cash register \n\n“You like art ?” Mom asked wile giving her the book \n\n“Yeah my dad says I’m really good” the girl replied \n\n“ yes my son loves to draw I think he’s your age as well, he’s somewhere around here” my mom said. \n\nmy mom slowly turned her head and saw me standing across the room and told me to come over here. \n\nI awkwardly walked over to the two by the register \n\n“This is my son Michel” mom said proudly \n\n“Hey Mike” the girl said awkwardly to me \n\n I was sweating so much at that point I felt like the room would fill with it (now that I think about it that’s a bit gross)\n\n“My names Olivia Jones.....Olive for short” the girl with ginger hair said \n\n“Your mom said you like art right?” Olive asked me \n\n“Yes.....yes I do” I said awkwardly \n\nShe noticed I was nervous\n\n“Hey calm done I don’t bite” she said laughing \n\nI chuckled a bit \n\n“Can I see your art ?” Olive asked \n\nMom smiled quietly at the awkward conversation going on In front of her \n\n“Oh.......yeah..sure” I say awkwardly \n\nMy mom keeps some drawings that I did in a compartment in the store counter so I grabbed them from there and showed Olive.\n\n“Wait...you did this?” Olive asked amazed \n\nI could feel the heat building in my body\n\n“Yes” I replied quietly \n\n“This is amazing” Olive said \n\n“Oh....thank you..” I said \n\nA awkward silence falls on us \n\n“Hey...uh you maybe want to...you know draw together...I mean maybe we can see who’s better or...” I asked awkwardly \n\nOlive gave me a smile \n\n“Sure thing Mr awkward” Olive said \n\n“Well you guys have fun I’m going to go and take care of some business in the back Storage room” mom said leaving the cash register, Now that was one of the most awkward conversations I have ever had, me and Olive looked around the store for more art stuff and as we began to talk more, things became less awkward and I started talking more and stuttering less. After looking around the store for a thew minutes me and Olive walked outside and started talking about art and everything we had ever drawn, we decided to sit on a bench in the town park and try to draw the most realistic tree that either of us had ever see, and who ever won would get free burgers from the burger van near by and the loser would buy the burgers for them. \n\n𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 \n\nIn the end we couldn’t decide on who won or lost so we both bought burgers and sat on a bench in the park and talked to Each other about the summer we had. \n\n“So how’s the summer going for you?” Olive asked \n\n“It’s good” I replied \n\nThe summer was almost over and for the most part of it I was helping my parents run there small shop in town named ‘Redwood’s Li’l haven’ I got paid a decent amount of money for it something like ten or fifteen dollars but I didn’t really know anyone so i was mostly alone for the summer.\n\n“Hey are you going to Redwood Falls high?” She asked \n\n“Yeah...are you?” I asked \n\n“Yeah” she replied \n\n“How come I haven’t seen you around?” I asked \n\n“Just moved here this summer from some small town by the sea in California” Olive said \n\n“Ah makes sense” I say understanding \n\nI try and think of more things to say but I had nothing \n\n𝘈 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘸 𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴\n\n“How’s it feel you can get anything for free in your parents store?” Olive asked me \n\nI hadn’t realised she asked me anything because I was deep in thought \n\n“Ok.....it’s ok I think, me and my parents also live there as well but they said I might have to work there if I want a car and money when I’m older” I said awkwardly \n\n“It’s sounds like a fun Job” Olive says \n\n“Na the Job my mom had last looked fun she was a cop” I said proudly \n\n“Cool... and why is she not one anymore?” Olive asked \n\nI thought for a moment \n\n“I think she didn’t want to be a cop wile she had a baby I think?.... because she left the Redwood falls police force the same year as I was born” I said \n\n“Fair” Olive said \n\nWe talked about interests and things we liked for a couple of hours until the sun started dipping beneath the tall Redwoods surrounding the town. She gave me her number and I did the same agreeing to see each other agin tomorrow because neither of us had anything to do that summer, During the thew weeks that past we were friends, we mostly spent time drawing and looking around my mom and dads shop for new art supplies and at every chance I could get I would do everything for her like hold a door open or buy things for her but she always insisted I didn’t have to do things like that for her and I think she could sense that I liked her but it wouldn’t be for a thew weeks until one warm summer night at the Towns park again I confessed my feelings for her in a combination of stutters and sweating, \n\nAfter I told her how I felt it felt like years before she answered Evan though it was a couple of seconds. \n\n“Hey ...I kinda always knew Mike” she said smiling \n\n“Ohh..” I said awkwardly. I felt my face heat up, it was like my head was being placed next to a warm furnace \n\nOlive pushed her ginger curls out of the view of her right eye\n \n“I always kinda liked you as well Mike” she said smiling\n\n“You know why?” She asked \n\nI didn’t answer \n\n“your innocent and awkward which is really funny, and your much nicer then most of the teens in this town” Olive said happily \n\nI couldn’t say anything I was just red in the face \n\nShe hugged me instantly and we both told each other how long we had feelings for one and other, after that we held hands the hole way home until we reached her house and we said our goodbyes and just before I began to walk off she ran to me and kissed me on the lips, I felt so happy and warm with her at that moment and I didn’t want to leave but when I did we talked at home on our cellphones and we both knew we were going to be together for a long time. \n\n𝘈 𝘧𝘦𝘸 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 \n\nAfter I got of the phone with olive I was called to the kitchen from across hallway by my mom for dinner \n\nMy dad (who was tall and skinny and had a short spiky brown hair) was twiddling spaghetti on his fork “So mike.....this girl is she your sloppy seconds?” He asked \n\nI spat out some meatball crumbs after hearing my dads words “what..?” I asked \n\n“You and that ginger are dating?.....,what about that girl you used to go on about all the time when you were 13?,....I think her name was....Ffion?....I thought you were dating her?” Dad asked \n\n“No....she’s not my crush anymore,...I’m happy....I’m with olive, and don’t call her that” I said \n\nDad rolled his eyes \n\n“Awww remember when we were like that honey pie?” My dad placed his Hand on my moms leg \n\nMom smiled, they held each other for a bit before there feelings overtook them and My mom’s face turned excited in a sexual way. Which would make sense because they both left the table and went to there bedroom behind then storage room to do what parents do behind closed doors. They were always like this, they would go to there room almost every week. They were sex Addicts to put it simply. Now back to my relationship, The following days were Great, we went places, we had deep and long conversations and we went on our first date, even though it was a crappy restaurant we still enjoyed it, we both cared so much for each other and things weren’t awkward anymore and I knew things would only get better\n\n𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳\n\nWhen school was back in session I was surprised to see Olive was in my class but happy because I got to see her every day because she had almost every subject as me so I introduced Olive to the only thew people in my class that cared to listen, the twins Grayson and Jason brown both had long brown hair and were easily agitated especially Grayson the oldest, they both lived on a farm on the outside of town. they were in my class but weren’t my friends but they were always willing to help me with anything and if we got the chance, we would work together on a school project like making a history poster or a model of a volcano stuff like that, and like me they didn’t have any friends either, So in conclusion they were just class mates I spoke to time to time. \n\n𝘐𝘯 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘐𝘯 5𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘥\n\nMe and Olive sat down in our Science class for 5th period as the other students piled into the small class room. We waited until we saw the two twins approach us and I introduced Olive to them. \n\n“So this is your girl?” Grayson asked \n\n“Yes” I replied \n\nGrayson paused for a bit \n\n“No way that’s bull” Grayson said \n\n“What?” I exclaimed \n\n“You could never pull that,......she ain’t your girl” Grayson said motioning to Olive \n\n“Yes Grayson she is” I replied aggressively \n\n“Ok calm your balls, I’m just having a laugh” Grayson said \n\n“What’s your name Ging?” Jason asked Olive \n\n“Olive...... it’s Olive” Olive says to Jason \n\n“cool I like Olives” Jason says in a mocking tone \n\nI gave him a pissed of stare \n\n“What I like Olives” Jason says laughing \n\n“Ok Jason, be quite, but Olive how come we’ve never seen you before?” Grayson asked \n\n“Just moved here, over the summer” Olive replied \n\n“My family bought the house on mill street and......” Olive was interrupted by Grayson \n\n“That’s nice but what do you like Olive?” Grayson asked \n\n“Drawing, comics....that kinda of stuff” Olive replied \n\n“So the same as your wired ass boyfriend” Grayson says \n\n“Yea we like comics but have you read cat in the hat, thing one and thing two?” Olive says mocking the two boys \n\n“Fuck off” Grayson says wile me Olive and Jason laugh\n\n“She’s funny Mike” Jason says chuckling \n\n“Yeah...I know” I say \n\n𝘞𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘸 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘴 \n\n a tall lanky kid our age with short light brown hair appeared behind the twins\n\n“Well what’s going on here?” The tall lanky kid asked us \n\nJason and Grayson both looked up at him \n\n“Oh this...this is Alex marsh” Grayson told us \n\nOlive looked confused \n\nI knew who Alex marsh was though,Alex had extremely thin brown hair to the pint that he looked like he was bald, he had always been the rule breaker, that one kid who sweared to the teacher in 7th grade with no fear, that one kid who was the first in our class to be sent to detention and the first to ever ditch. I was also expected to work when I first wake up on week days, for ten hours a day. even though the store hasn’t been popular since the 80s when I was a kid, back then I would see thousands of teens rush into the small store and buy every magazine in sight, but now my parents haven’t changed the stock so it’s like we are living in the 80s. As I reached the bottom stair my mother spoke to me in a angry voice. \n\n“Your late” she said angrily \n\n“I know mom...I’m sorry” I say wile yawning \n\nI grabbed my name tag from the store counter and situated myself behind the cash register\n\n“Michael....your sixteen and if you are going to be a adult you need to be responsible and set a alarm” mom said \n\n“Yes i know mom” i moan \n\nMom snapped “Mike i mean it, it’s five in the afternoon” she said angrily \n\n“....ok” i said \n\n“Good” mom said wile heading towards the front door \n\nMom stopped half way and spoke \n\n“Remember me and your farther are going on a date” she said leaving \n\nAs she left the store Olive stepped inside and I instantly shot up from my seat behind the register. \n\n“Hey Mike” Olive says walking towards me \n\n“Hey...Olive” I say \n\nShe stood next to the store counter wile chewing a peace of gum \n\n“In trouble with your mom again?” She asked \n\n“Yeah ...how do you know?” I asked \n\n“Saw her face” she replied \n\n“Yeah she has a face you can tell when she is pissed” I say \n\n“Yep” Olive says wile spitting the gum in her mouth into the trash can next to me \n\n“You got Any plans tonight?” Olive asked \n\nI think for a bit “yeah I’m going out with Grayson and Jason tonight....sorry Olive” i said disheartened\n\n“Na....it’s fine Mike you have friends for a reason” Olive said understanding \n\nI chuckle “yeah...true” I said \n\nOlive smiles \n\n“Sorry” I say sounding sad \n\n“For what? I’ll pay you back” Grayson says \n\n“You never do” Olive says \n\n“Yet” Grayson says putting the pack of cigarettes in his vest pocket \n\nI sigh “and that’s why my mom banned you from this store in the first place” I said \n\n“Ha I remembered that” Jason chuckled \n\n“Mhm she was pissed” Grayson said \n\nJason walks over to a stack of old comic books in the corner of the store \n\n“Also....when is your mom and dad going to restock this weird place” Jason asked \n\n“I...I don’t know this stuff is old it’s from the 80s” I said \n\n“Well.....I think it’s cool” Olive said \n\n“Of course you would” Grayson said \n\nOlive shot Grayson a agitated glance \n\n“Ok guys enough what are you doing tonight?” Olive asked \n\n“Things” Grayson said \n\n“What things, Thing one?” Olive asked wile mocking him \n\nMe and Jason laughed \n\nThe nickname ‘thing one’ that Olive calls Grayson is a reference to cat in the hat because Grayson is the oldest and annoying twin so Olive will use that name at every chance she gets. \n\nGrayson sighed “we are driving out to the falls” he said \n\n“The falls?” I said \n\n“Yeah the water falls, the reason this town is called Redwood FALLS” Grayson exclaimed\n\n“Calm yourself, fucking hell” Jason said \n\n“Sounds fun” Olive says \n\n“You want to come with” Jason asked Olive \n\nOlive thinks for a bit \n\n“Yes?” I said trying to beg her to come with us \n\nShe continued to think \n\n“Ok yes sure I’ll go” Olive says \n\n“Yes” I said sounding excited\n\n“Great now we will see you guys kissing constantly” Grayson moans \n\n“Fuck off Your jealous” Jason said \n\n“He’s right” Olive says \n\n“Fuck off” Grayson says \n\nWe all laughed \n\n“Wait hold on are we taking my car?” I asked \n\n“Yeah...we are” Grayson answered \n\nWhy don’t we just ask Alex to take us in his Chevy pick up doesn’t he do this type of stuff anyway” I said \n\nGrayson chuckled “he’s out of town remember in Los Angeles, probably gambling” Grayson said \n\nI roll my eyes “yes probably” I said \n\n“So what time is this trip happening anyways?” I asked \n\n“After you get off” Jason says \n\n“Which is when?” Grayson asked \n\n“730” I replied \n\n“Ok that’s when we leave” Jason says \n\n𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘢𝘵 700 \n\nWhen the clock struck seven I called my mom and said I was heading out and me, Olive and the brown’s twins made our way out of the family store and into my car a dark blue four door Volvo 1989, the car had destroyed seats from the 70s and the engine Rattled a lot but it was my only mode of transportation at my age so I didn’t complain, we all jumped into my car with Olive in the front passenger seat and the brown’s twins in the back seats. When we were all in the old rusty car I turned the key and the car slowly struggled to raw into life, but when it did we were on our way driving towards the Towns water fall as the day began to move into night.\n\n The weather was cold and the sky was a grey mixed with light blue Littered with White Splodges which were clouds. The car’s engine struggled to keep on but i think that’s what you get if you buy it from a cheep car salesman. \n\n“You know where your going Mike?” Jason asked \n\n“Yes I know where the falls are I used to go there a lot as a kid” I said \n\n“Didn’t your parents hate you going there?” Jason said \n\n“Yes...but i did anyways I mean it isn’t dangerous up there” I said \n\n“Oh i remember you got grounded for going there before” Grayson said \n\n“Yep...I remember that, they were pissed” Jason said \n\n“But why...?” Grayson asked \n\n“How should I know...I mean I barely talk to them if it’s not about work or family stuff” I said \n\n“Like all of us” Grayson said \n\n“Being a teen is fun” Jason said sarcastically \n\n“Do they know your going there tonight?” Grayson asked \n\nI thought for a bit and remembered calling my parents before I left and telling them I was heading out but I didn’t tell them where, they said it was fine and they we’re also heading out apparently on a date together and they said they would be gone for a thew hours so we had time. And I think the reason my mom was so controlling of me is because she was a ex police officer so maybe that’s why. \n\n“Yeah they know I’m out but not where” I said \n\n“Naughty boy” Grayson said mocking me\n\n“What if they find out your going to the falls?” Jason asked \n\n“They won’t...there out on a date tonight mom told me when I called her before we left” I said \n\n“Aww like you and Olive are” Grayson said in a weird voice \n\nI roll my eyes and look at Olive in the corner of my eye, she was smiling and looking out the window at the passing buildings. Soon the buildings turned into trees as we drove along a long forrest concrete road leading to the falls.\n\n35 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 \n\n The sky was completely pich black at this point, the stars were out and the temperature dropped. \n\n “Fuck me it’s cold turn the heat on” Grayson said \n\n“Can’t no heat” I replied \n\n“You have no air conditioning in this fucking car” Grayson snapped \n\n“Nope” I said \n\n“Fuck” Grayson exclaimed\n\n“Calm down we are almost there right Mike?” Jason asked \n\n“Yeah I see the turn off” I said \n\nOn the right There was a gap in the trees on the side of the road which had a long dirt path which lead up to the falls, I used this a lot as a kid and I still remembered how to navigate it correctly. \n\n“What are we even going to do there anyways?” Olive asked \n\n“Yeah guys what are we doing?” I asked \n\n“Hold on calm down we can just walk around smoke you know” Grayson said \n\nI sigh “what ever” I moan \n\n“Don’t worry there’s lots of bushes for you and your girl” Grayson says laughing \n \nI role my eyes and focus on the road \n\n“Wait...you guys are still virgins right?” Grayson asked \n\nI roll my eyes “yes we are” I said angrily\n\nGrayson laughs “bull shit, if you guys love each other so much why haven’t you made out yet?” Grayson asked \n\n“because Grayson we actually have the patience to wait until we leave school to lose our virginity” Olive snapped at him\n\n“What are you saying?” Grayson asked \n\n“What she means is your a 17 year old smoke addict with no girl and you like winding us up because unlike you we have a healthy relationship” I said \n\nGrayson laughed \n\n“I like smoking it’s fun” Grayson said \n\nGrayson pulled out a cigarette from his pocket and lighted it as the car started to smell like nicotine. \n\n“Disgusting” I said \n\n“Yeah thats foul” Olive said blocking her nose\n\n“Fuck off have you even tried it Mi....” before Grayson finished his sentence a group of police cars Sped past, over taking us on the left hand side, i didn’t even get chance to move to the side I thought. The sirens were Piercing through the night sky as the Redwood falls cop cars drove away \n\n“What the fuck?” Grayson said spitting out his cigarette\n\n“Oh my god” Olive exclaimed\n\n“Why are the cops here?” I asked in a panic \n\n“Fucking hell how many were there” Jason asked \n\n“I don’t know like ten...what are they doing” I said starting to breathe heavily\n\n“Wait are they going to the falls look” Jason pointed to the path we where approaching\n\nThe ten or so police cars were heading up the rough dirt path on the right leading to the falls with there sirens piercing the air. \n\n“What the hell” Jason said \n\n“Should we follow?” Grayson suggested \n\n“I don’t know what if we see something we shouldn’t” I debated \n\n“He’s right” Olive said \n\n“What ever nothing will happen” Jason said \n\n“Please” Grayson begged \n\n“We can see what happened” Jason suggested \n\nI thought for a bit \n\n“Fine, we were going there anyway” I moaned\n\n“Yes Mike” Grayson said sounding Excited\n\nwe turned onto the dirt road leading to the falls as the police cars sirens Pierce the once peaceful cold night air\n\n𝘢 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘸 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 \n\nAs my old car pulled up to the ending of the dirt path which lead to the falls my stomach began to drop as I saw police cruisers and ambulances littering the dirt car park. My car came to a stop in one of the only free spots in the dirt car park not occupied by a emergency vehicle. Normally there was a small path you could follow which would take you to the water fall, this path was located to the right of the dirt car park but the path was covered in police tape.\n\n“Holy shit” Jason exclaimed \n\n“Lucky we don’t have any weed on us” Grayson said \n\n“Shut up “ I said wile trying to find a place to stop the car \n\nIn the crowd of officers i saw a man who I knew to well not to notice him, his name was Doug Bates, he was a police officer who worked with my mom when she was a cop back in the late 70s before I was born, after my mom left the police force when I was born my mom and Doug still stayed in contact but he never looked please to see me when he would come over to talk with my mom about police work and discuss old memories they had, apparently Doug and my mom and dad went to the same school as kids, which is what my dad told me. Officer Doug noticed me instantly and walked over to my car, i stopped the car and turned the engine off. \n\n“Hello there Mike” said Doug in his usual old croaky and miserable voice \n\nDoug had black hair and wrinkles all over his face and his voice sounded like he was constantly tired and pissed off, He was about age 45 but he looked 60. \n\n“Hey ...there Mr... Officer Bates” I said nervously \n\n“Remember.....kid just call me Doug” the old officer said \n\nI nodded \n\nDoug would normally only come over to my house to speak with my mom with police work and talk a out the past, but for some reason Doug gives me the creeps I just don’t know why. \n\nAfter a long awkward silence between me and officer Doug, I asked him a question \n\n“What’s happening?” I asked Looking over at the small path covered in police tape\n\nDoug looked at me with a stressed expression on his face and he took a deep breath \n\n“You really shouldn’t be here kid....you need to leave” Dough said to me \n\n“Doug, I mean mr bates or, never mind just....just tell what happened I mean I’ve known you since I was what like 4” I stuttered \n\nDoug thought for a wile before answering me \n\n“Well if you must know we.....we found a body in the bottom of the water falls” Doug said sounding uncomfortable\n\nMy blood ran cold after the words left Doug’s mouth \n\nThe car was silent for a thew minutes \n\n“What....?” Olive said in shock \n\n“The fuck?” Jason said \n\n“You....found a body..” I stuttered \n\nThere was a long pause \n\n“Yes..... we identified it and he was a high school student your age his name was Sean wilts” Dough said With fear in his eyes \n\n“Fuck....me” Jason said in shock \n\nI had never seen Doug this scared before In fact the only time he actually seemed scared was when he would talk about missing person cases to my mom when they discussed police work at home. But nothing like this had ever happened in Redwood falls before heck the only thing our town is known for is having some of the biggest redwoods in the state. \n\n“That’s horrible” Olive said in a disturbed voice \n\n“do...they have any leads?” I asked \n\nDoug thought for a moment then answered \n\n“No not yet...” he said sternly \n\n“The leading theory’s are that he might have fell, or unfortunately committed suicide....,I don’t think there’s any fowl play involved” Doug said \n\n“Oh my god” Olive exclaimed \n\n“Fucking hell” I Said in shock \n\nI was shocked But not as much as Grayson \n\n“Holy shit....I know him” Grayson said sounding concerned\n\n“What?” Jason asked his twin brother \n\n“Sean Wilts...he was my friend in elementary school...oh my fucking god” Grayson said looking like he was going to pass out\n\nGrayson told us that he was best friends with sean in elementary school, and they were for two years the best of friends until they had a big fight and never saw each other again. We were all shocked, especially Grayson he was shit scared and terrified. \n\n“Oh my god...holy shit I remember him” Jason said in realisation\n\n“How could...how could this have happened what the fuck” Grayson said starting to panic\n\nGrayson began panicking and yelling \n\n“WHO THE HELL DID THIS!” Grayson yelled \n\nJason try’s to calm his brother down \n\n“Listen Mike....I think you should take your friends home wile we investigate” Doug said \n\nI looked back at Grayson who was shaking extremely bad wile Jason was trying to get him to calm down. \n\nI looked at Olive who was pale \n\nI thought for a moment \n\n“Ok....” I said Turning the car back on \n\nThe engine rattled into life and I began driving the car away and When the car turned around Grayson yelled something out the back window\n\n“FIND THE PERSON WHO DID THIS!!!” He yelled\n\nJason tried to calm Grayson down wile I tried to focus on driving us down the rough dirt road, in the pitch black night. \n\nNo one said anything on the ride home, just silence pure silence for forty minutes, Grayson’s face was pale and he was shaking and occasionally a small tear fell down his cheek but Jason was there to wipe it, After a long car ride we reached the browns twins farm house on the edge of town. I had only been there once, just to drop off the twins after a night out, i apologised to Grayson about the nights events and he just nodded and I told Jason to look after his brother before they left the car. And I could tell by the state of Grayson’s face he was not going to be sleeping for a wile. After Jason and Grayson left the car I drove Olive all the way back to town, back to her house. \n\n𝘛𝘸𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘺 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 \n\nWhen my car pulled up outside her house Olive asked to do one thing for her \n\n“Make sure you check up on Grayson when he feels better...you and his brother have a good thing going on” Olive said getting out of the car\n\n“Yeah i will don’t worry” I said \n\n“And hey...Mike” Olive said \n\n“Mmm?” I mumbled \n\n“Drive safely please” Olive said \n\n“I will” I said \n\nI turned my car around and drove towards the street my home was on. \n\n𝘛𝘸𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘺 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 \n\nWhen I pulled up outside my house/store I had the shakes, wondering if Doug had told my mom what had happened, What if she knew I had gone up to the falls, but I knew Grayson was more important Then getting in trouble with my parents, So I stepped out of my car and opened the front glass door of the store To reveal my mom and dad both standing in the middle of the room. I let the glass door shut behind me as the store bell rang as the door closed. \n\n“Honey what did we tell you” mom said walking up to me \n\nBut her face drained of anger as soon as she saw my expression of fear for my friend \n\n“We are so sorry you had to witness that....Officer bates told us everything he knows” dad said \n\nMom hugged me \n\n“Mom I’m fine it’s just” I stuttered \n\n“We are so sorry for you and your friends they should’t have see That” mom said Trembling \n\n“I know mom but I’m fine it’s just...Grayson he’s...that was his friend” I struggled saying\n\nMoms face went pale \n\n“That was his body? The body Officer Doug found at the crime scene?” She asked \n\nI nodded \n\n“Oh my god” dad said putting His hands over his head \n\nMom hugged me again \n\n“I promise Michael, that Officer Doug will find the.....the people who did this and bring them to justice” mom said hugging me tighter \n\n30 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 \n\nWe hugged for 30 minutes but it felt like hours until my mom and dad let me go upstairs to sleep, but evan then I couldn’t sleep because not only I was worrying about Grayson, I could her the sounds of my mom and dad arguing down stairs. They eventually stopped and the building went quite and I finally let my heavy eye lids close sending me into a deep and a dark sleep and the last thought I had before I let the darkness take me was this was the first time I ever saw Grayson brown cry in the several years I’ve known him. \n\nThe days after that night were quiet, I didn’t see the guys or Olive, sure I called Olive on my cell but I couldn’t get a answer out of the twins, I was extremely worried about Grayson. But word got around fast about Sean’s death, everyone thought it was a suicide, but me and Olive both thought he was......murdered. I think this was because i watched to many murder mystery TV shows when I was a child, my mom always thought they were dumb. I was getting by fine but I was incredibly worried about the twins because they have not answered any of my calls. \n\nBut towards the end of the week off, I was going downstairs to speak to my mom when I saw Officer Doug Bates going to the front door to leave \n\nI rushed to him, thinking to ask him what happened to Sean Wilts, Hopefully to somehow make things better \n\nWhen Doug saw me he jumped (he looked like he had seen a ghost, his face was pale and he seemed jumpy) \n\n“Oh...hello Michael” Doug said Calming down \n\nI could tell Doug had one eye on me and one behind me\n\nI turned around and saw that my mom and dad were taking in the Storage about something (they soon closed the door to block me from their conversation) \n\n“Hey...Mr bates....I have a question?” I asked \n\nDoug looked at me “what is it?...and be Quick I have some work to do” the man said (he sounded very eager to get out of my house) \n\n“Have you...have you found out what happened to Sean Wilts?....like how did he.....die” I asked awkwardly \n\n\nI started feeling sick thinking about that night again \n\nThis seemed to hit Doug hard because his face gave of a emotion as if he had been stabbed \n\n“....unfortunately....all signs are pointing to suicide” Doug said \n\nThe way Doug said this was off, it was like he rehearsed this conversation, but in his defence he probably had to say this to Sean’s grieving family. \n\n“Oh....” I said \n\nDoug said I shouldn’t think about it he left and I went back upstairs to get some breakfast \n\nAfter that day I still herd nothing from the twins and me and Olive never spoke to each other outside, but we did on our cellphones. I would not see the twins at all but I still had some hope that me and Olive would see them at school on Monday. \n\n\n\n\n",
